Acting Camp: Wizarding World of Harry Potter (Grades 2-4)
Want to enter the Wizarding World but never received your letter to Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry? Now’s your chance to pick up your wand and join us on an expertly themed 5-day Hogwarts experience, including the scientific curriculum of Professor Slughorn’s Potions class, Hagrid’s magical zoology experiments, Professor McGonagall’s famous yule ball dance techniques, and Harry Potter’s tips & tricks to becoming head student. This camp will use fun theatre games and acting techniques to build confident performance skills, and be paired expertly with carefully crafted and themed educational experiences that will ensure our performers will make some magical moments! Our five day Hogwarts experience will culminate in an end-of-the week performance on stage for friends and family.

Acting Camp II: Harry Potter and the Dark Arts (Grades 5-7)
Grab your wand and join us as we advance our newest class of students to the next level of their magical education during this intermediate wizarding experience, including the scientific curriculum of transfiguration with Professor McGonagall, Gilderoy Lockhart’s Duelling Club, Professor Snape’s rigorous Potions class, Newt Scamander’s fantastic beasts, and try your hat at mind reading with Queenie. You may even fall victim to the Dancing Feet Spell! This camp will use fun theatre games and acting techniques to build confident performance skills, and be paired expertly with carefully crafted and themed educational experiences that will ensure our performers will make some magical moments! Our five day experience will culminate in an end-of-the week performance on stage for friends and family.

Musical Theatre Intensive: All Shook Up (Grades 4-8)
Put on your Blue Suede Shoes and join us for a week of choreography, partnering, and scene work directly from CAMT's spring production of All Shook Up! Taught by the show’s Director, Mrs. Courtney Sarre, and cast members from our Teen Company, this camp is full of fun Elvis hits culminating in a mini-musical production that will be custom tailored to the development and strengths of our young artists. Campers will get the tactical experience of putting on a show from start-to-finish, starting with structured auditions, daily rehearsals, and ending with a performance for friends and family. During this intensive, students will receive personalized instruction, dedicated attention, while learning choreo and scene work from the musical. By the end of camp everybody in the whole cell block will be dancin' to some Jailhouse Rock

Musical Theatre Intensive: Broadway Musical Mash-Up
We want you to “be our guest” for a fun-filled week of songs and scenes from Broadway musicals in this full day summer intensive session led by Mrs. Diana Flaherty. Our staff will help our campers develop budding talents, explore acting, singing, and dancing techniques designed to help introduce and strengthen performing skills, and harness their imaginative and creative energies into an end-of-week performance that will surely show our students “a whole new world.” Don’t let this opportunity go! Songs and scenes will be selected from popular Disney musicals and be paired expertly with carefully crafted and themed educational experiences that will ensure our performers will make some magical moments! This 5-day camp culminates in an end-of-week performance of scenes and songs that will be learned throughout the week.

ACTING CAMP: Commericals and Voice Overs (Grades 5-9)
Ever wondered what it’s like to bring animated characters, video games, or commercials to life with just your voice? Discover the exciting world of voice acting! This camp is perfect for aspiring voice actors looking to develop their craft, whether you’re interested in animation, video games, dubbing, or commercials. Learn the ins and outs of voice acting, including techniques and how to build your own voice reel. You will leave camp with a recording of your own slate and voice over work.

Musical Theater: A WICKED Musical Revue (Grades 3-6)
Singing, dancing, and acting - “Oh, My!” Join us as we celebrate this year's most popular movie musical. Learn songs and sides from the Broadway production of Wicked as we work on a musical medley showcase! Receive dedicated instruction on voice, movement and acting techniques, exploring musical theatre in a professional training environment The week will end with a classroom performance for friends and family.

MUSICAL THEATRE 360 (4th-8th Grades)
Learn the way around a theatrical production as we take students on a 360 degree journey of the whole process - from creating a script to putting on a show! Join us for this camp where our theatre educators will guide students through creating their own Juke Box Musical from start to finish! If your child loves to create their own show, now they can be a part of a collective imaginative process as our students come up with their own lines for scene work, and challenge their creativity with the opportunity to build scenery, props, and costumes, while building up their confidence and problem-solving abilities! Students will collaborate on different theatrical elements that make up a production to develop their acting and creative writing skills. Camp will culminate in an end-of-the-week performance for families and friends to enjoy!

MUSICAL THEATRE: Technique Intensive (9-12th Grades)
Lead by Mrs. Courtney, Mrs. Diana and a very exciting surprise choreographer, this intensive will focus on duet scene work, script analysis, different styles of musical theatre choreography and partnering, as well as on ensemble and duet acting through song. The week will end with a classroom showcase for friends and family.

MUSICAL THEATRE: Audition Boot Camp (2-8th Grades)
Auditioning is a skill and what a better way to practice and hone that skill than attending an audition Boot Camp! Under the supervision and direction of our creative team this class will be led by some of our most seasoned Teen Company performers. Each day will progress as if attending a real audition. Students will receive a number when they first arrive, have a daily dance call where they will learn tips and tricks for quickly learning choreography. Students will work on creating a slate, improvisation skills, as well as reading acting sides. This Boot Camp is designed to help take the fear out of auditions, build confidence, and have some fun!

CAMT'S SUMMER MAIN STAGE PRODUCTION

Main Stage Production: DISNEY WORLD - Audition Required
Have you dreamed of performing on stage at Walt Disney World? This is your chance for that once in a lifetime experience to perform for a live audience at Disney World’s Waterside Theatre!!! This seven day educational experience, consisting of a professional audition process, full rehearsals with extensive training in vocals, dance, and acting under the direction of several of Charleston’s most accomplished children’s theatre educators. Full-day rehearsal sessions will culminate in a magical main stage production! Be a part of this amazing process - all leading up to an epic on stage production on July 27th in Orlando Florida!
Performers will have five days to be cast in and make performance ready CAMT’s “A Disney Musical Review”. Students can expect to be part of the show-stopping numbers and incredible vocals that CAMT is known for. Final Performances with full audience (open to the public) at a time to be advised. Come be a part of an exciting experience that will create lasting memories!
Auditions: This is an intensive session and auditions are required. Prospective students must be approved and accepted by the Directors in order to participate in this program. Current 2024-25 Performance Company members are exempt from the Disney auditions. Audition details will be sent upon registration for the Disney Parent Meeting.
Attendance is required at all rehearsals (Mt Pleasant,SC and Florida) to be eligible to perform on stage at Disney World. Students must be able to commit to the following dates and times to be accepted for this program:
Monday-Friday, July 21-25 (9:30-3:30pm) in Mt Pleasant, SC
Saturday, July 26 (5:00-7:00pm) in Lake Buena Vista, FL
Sunday, July 27 (all day) in Lake Buena Vista, FL
Travel requirement: Families are responsible for their own transportation to Disney World on Saturday, July 26 before 5:00pm and remain until the pickup time on Sunday, July 27th (or weather makeup 7/28). A block of rooms at a Disney Resort will be reserved and available for you to book at your cost. Each student participating must have a chaperone and adhere to all Disney and CAMT policies and procedures. CAMT staff are not eligible to be chaperones. Disney Waivers are required for all family members attending with their student. Transportation/Food/Lodging not included.
Park Admission: Each student participating will receive a two-day park pass included in the tuition cost, as required by Disney to gain access to performance areas, with the option to upgrade for longer stays. Additional 2, 3, or 5-day tickets will be available for family members at a discounted group price. All tickets purchased through CAMT for this program are non-transferrable, non-refundable. The Disney Springs Waterside Theatre is open to the public with free seating for families to enjoy CAMT’s performance.
